Job Title: Finance Officer
Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary: Kebetkache is looking to hire a Finance Officer with excellent organizational and analytical skills. The Finance Officer will ensure transparent, accurate, and timely financial management to support Kebetkache’s programs and operations. This role oversees day-to-day accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with donor regulations and Nigerian financial legislation. The candidate should have experience in the Non-profit sector and a deep commercial awareness, strong numeracy skills, and a keen interest in the growth, efficiency, and profitability of an organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the annual budgeting process; consolidate departmental budgets and track variances.
Process all financial transactions: accounts payable, receivable, payroll, advances, and reimbursements.
Reconcile bank statements and petty cash on a monthly basis.
Generate monthly management accounts and financial dashboards for the Executive Director and Board Finance Committee.
Compile donor-specific financial reports, ensuring adherence to grant agreements and donor templates.
Ensure compliance with Kebetkache’s financial policies, statutory requirements (FIRS, VAT, PENCOM), and internal controls.
Monitor cash flow projections; authorize and schedule payments in line with approved budgets.
Continuously improve financial systems and recommend process enhancements.
Carry out any other assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within an NGO or in a donor-funded environment.
Demonstrable knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory deductions, and compliance.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
· Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
· High attention to detail and accuracy.
· Integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff.
